About
I am presently validating an educational construct called essential ecoliteracy, a kind of earth smarts that societies need to maintain or improve their quality of life in a changing world. The web page is:
www.earthsmarts.info
I also study:
* What educational differences may exist in societies that have impressive environmental & ecojustice credentials (such as Dominica, the Caribbean's "Nature Isle").
* How specific teaching modules may affect environmental attitudes as measured by the New Ecological Paradigm scale.
* How attitudes towards teaching evolution interact with socioscientific issues and an understanding of the nature of science.
While I love teaching, research and writing, my background is in marine science and I have worked with a wide variety of wildlife and studied rockfish sound production for my Masters.
I also have experience in environmental education and science journalism.
