About
My dissertation is a discussion of Richard Rorty’s place in the history of analytic philosophy. It focuses on his apparent rejection of it, and his criticisms of it and attempts to flesh out a specific view of what analytic philosophy is. This view will be placed in the context of the current discussion of the nature and future of analytic philosphy. This will involve having a rich historical frame of reference as well as a command of the major themes and arguments of the analytic philosophy of a generation ago. Additionally, it will involve addressing key metaphilosophical questions about the identity and methodological diversity of analytic philosophy, and how these affect its future. It will also allow an appropriate assessment of the late philosopher's work and it's ability to provoke us still.
Some of my other interests include (but are not limited to) Metaphysics and Epistemology, Free-Will and Action Theory, Metaethics, the Philosophy of Science, Philosophy of Psychology and Self-Identity and the Philosophy of Music
